IEXPLORE.EXE redirected to or

My internet explorer was re-directed to I removed a few links in registry like: “…iexplore.exe” Then I started IE, it was redirected to instead. I deleted everything I found in registry about this address. But it still did that.

I have Norton Antivirus, but it can’t detect anything.

Finally, I found a suspicous file in the IE folder: 1802120223.dat. I changed the name. Then the problem was gone. Obviously, this file is called by IE, which is marked in registry.

Then I found a key in registry:

If I remove this key and have the file there, there won’t be any problem either.

That’s why people can’t recognize. But the antivirus software is supposed to recognize it.

Schedule task to shutdown your PC automatically

I’m using this for XP.

1) Go to Start menu->All programs->Accessories->System Tools->Scheduled Tasks

Just Run “tasks”.

2) Add scheduled task:

Browse and select the program:

C:\WINDOWS\system32\shutdown.exe -s -t 60

Select how often and what day(s) and time you want to run this program, enter username and password of your window user.

Before “finish”, check “Open advanced properties for this task when I click Finish, in “Run:”, you should see “C:\WINDOWS\system32\shutdown.exe”, add “-s -t xx” at the end. xx means how many seconds before it shuts down.

e.g. you’ll have “C:\WINDOWS\system32\shutdown.exe -s -t 60”.

If you want to something else rather than directly shutdown, check “shutdown/?” in command prompt.

ThinkPad X61 Tablet Bluetooth not working?

Problem: I tried everything in bluetooth places, it showed “device not detected”. I checked drivers in system device management, but it showed everything worked ok. I used PC doctor, no error found. I checked system “Services”. The bluetooth service was running perfectly.

Solution: Very simple! Actually, in thinkpad x61t, open ThinkVantage Access Connections, there’s an option to turn on/off bluetooth device. I turned it off sometime before and forgot.
